Turkish consumer goods company Hayat Kimya has officially launched operations in Kenya with the introduction of its Molfix baby diaper brand.
Hayat Kimya has entered the Kenya market with two varieties of Molfix diapers—Molfix day and night diapers and the Molfix baby pants. The diapers will start at Ksh. 20 or 10 cents each Speaking at the launch, Hayat Kimya Global CEO Avni Kigili expressed the company’s commitment to the Kenyan market saying it hoped to be a market leader within two years. “Kenya is a developing country, carrying a lot of potential, with her growing, young population, with her strategic location for Central and East of Africa. Hayat would like to be part of this rapidly modernizing and developing country by offering brand quality and innovation with Molfix,” she says. During the launch, Hayat Kimya also unveiled Terryanne Chebet as its brand ambassador in Kenya. Chebet refered to the brands anti-leakage and high absorbency qualities as the reason to her using Molfix for her one year old baby girl, Talaa.
Hayat Kimya is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey and operates in the hygiene, home care and tissue categories with 14 global brands including Molfix, Molped, Bingo, Papia and Familia. The company has subsidiaries in Turkey, Bulgaria, Algeria, Iran, Egypt, Morocco, Russia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Kenya. Hayat Kimya employs 8000 people globally and exports products to more than 100 countries in the world. Molfix is a market leader in Nigeria, Algeria, Iran, Cameroon and among the top two players in Turkey, Egypt, and Morocco. It is ranked world’s fifth largest branded baby diaper manufacturer and the largest tissue manufacturer in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa by capacity.
